ASUS ZenFone 2 Deluxe Special Edition - Quick Review (Indonesia)

ASUS ZenFone 2 Deluxe Special Edition arrives nearly one year after ZenFone 2 initial announcement last year. ZenFone 2 Deluxe comes with 128GB storage while ZenFone 2 Deluxe Special Edition packed with 256GB storage! The 256GB storage comes from 128GB internal storage and a 128GB microSDXC Class 10 installed on the phone. That 256GB storage is equal to a notebook or PC storage so it's only fair to say that ZenFone 2 Deluxe is a mini PC on-the-go. Aside from enormous storage, this phone also has a 64-bit quad-core x86 CPU (Intel Atom X3590 2.5GHz) which a bit faster than Intel Atom X3580 2.3GHz in ZenFone 2.

But it still has the same 4GB RAM. Those powerful hardware gear up AnTuTu Bencmark 6.0 Score to 61116. When we try to compare its performance to a Snapdragon 810 CPU. Smartphone like Xperia Z5 Premium, it's equal.

ASUS ZenFone 2 Deluxe Special Edition packaging is also special with carbon design. But you still won't find a headset inside that box. Other than specification, it's much easier to tell the difference between ZenFone 2 Deluxe from ZenFone 2 from its back cover. ZenFone 2 Deluxe has a shiny diamond texture 3D back cover with bling bling effect.

You can feel the texture as well, not like the flat 2D OPPO R1x back cover. This bling bling back cover also helps reducing heat comes from the smartphone. But it's still as hot as ZenFone 2. ZenFone 2 Deluxe Special Edition comes with another back cover with carbon fiber design inside the box.

You can use this one to get a more macho look. Since this phone is a member of ASUS ZenFone 2 family, there's no laser autofocus technology in its 13MP rear camera. So it's not as fast as laser autofocus equipped family like ZenFone Selfie or ZenFone Laser. But no need to worry about the photo quality since there's no significant difference between them.

It's a shame that this phone still has the same battery capacity. The 3000 mAh battery hardly give enough power throughout the day for its 5.5 Inch Full HD display, 4GB RAM and 256GB storage. Charging the battery at 8 AM only gives you power up to 8 PM without playing any games. Thanks to quick charge feature, recharging battery only takes about 1.5 Hour.

This phone comes with Zen UI based on Android 5.0 Packed with lots of features, configurations and bloatwares. ZenFone 2 Deluxe Special Edition comes with US$430 price tag. With such a huge storage, this phone suits game and HD video collector perfectly. But if you're just an ordinary photo and social media junky, it's not the right phone for you..
